Workshop:

Half-day Workshop on “Job readiness program for graduate students on a mobile ready cloud-based E-learning format” was organised by Department of Commerce in collaboration with Department of Management on 11th July 2018. The competencies and abilities to be imbibed to make students ready for the corporate world was emphasized during the workshop. The team of speakers from Entuze Technology Solutions Private Limited, gave a picture about the CA, CS and CPT exams and the preparations needed for the same. The mobile friendly app developed by the company was demonstrated by Dr. Prabani Phukan and the students willing to work on their application were encouraged to do the same.

Invited Talk:

A guest lecture was conducted on the topic "Banking Innovation" by Mr.K M Swamy on 2nd February,2019 for the second semester B.Com students. He gave an insight of Banking system and its operations in the present scenario. Scope for more inventions were also discussed with respect to the subject.

Vidhyarambham: 

The day July 9, 2019 was an inaugural ceremony for the under graduate students of the academic year 2018-19. The day witnessed Prof. Vijaykumar R , HOD Commerce Department, Kristu Jayanti College as the chief guest. It was a day of beginning of the journey as Christites in the Christ College.

Commerce Association Inauguration:

The Department of Commerce formed it's association ‘CHRISCOM’ which was formally inaugurated on August 31, 2019. The chief guest for the day was Prof. Rishikesh K B from Christ University. The department consists of under graduate as well as post graduate students.

Guest Lecture:

A talk on’ Banking innovations’ for under graduate students was organised by the Department of Commerce on February 2, 2019. The speaker for the day was Mr. K M Swamy , Dy Regional Manager (Retd), Central Bank of India, RO Bangalore. The talk was more informative and showed many innovations in the banking sector.

Budget Conclave:

A panel discussion was organised by CHRISCOM on Union Budget 2019-20 as ’Budget Conclave’ on February 13, 2019. The day witnessed the panel members who shared their views on the recently proposed union budget. The panel members included Dr M S Reddy, Registrar, Bangalore North University as the Chief Guest, Dr S R Keshava, Dept of Economics, Bengaluru University, Dr V Muthukumar, Dept of Commerce, PG Kristu Jayanti College and C A Srinivasa Raghavan, Chartered Accountant, Director, Finance Academy as the panelists.

EMINENCE 2K19:

The Commerce Fest- Eminence 2K19 was organised by the Chriscom Association members on 27th September 2019.The main objective of this Fest is to enable the students to face the audience and make them competent to participate in other intercollegiate Fests,to improve the soft and hard skills of the students,to enhance the organising skills of the students and to encourage team work among the students,to bring about an overall development in the outlook of its members by imparting the necessary skills.,to channel the vision and mission of students towards lucrative career opportunity.
