A workshop on "Andriod App Development" was organised by Department of Computer Science in association with Computer Science Association on 27th and 28th September 2018. Mr.Sunil Kumar, Technology Specialist, Intrella Technologies Pvt. Ltd enlightened the BCA students of all years on developing the mobile applications.The students got a hands on experience in developing mobile app and all their queries were addressed during the session.
On 18th July 2018, a Workshop was organized by Department of Computer Science in association with Computer Science Association on “WEB TECHNOLOGIES”. Mr.Sunil Kumar was the resource person, he is an Technology Specialist, in Intrella Technologies Pvt. Ltd. First, second and third year students of BCA attended the workshop.This workshop provided the students to disseminate the knowledge of advanced web technologies.
To enhance the practical knowledge of the students and to bring awareness of Government organization functions a group of 20 final year students accompanied by two faculty members from Department of computer science, Christ College of Science and Management, Alambady, visited to Regional Telecom Centre, BSNL, Mysore.Students were elated to visit such a company where they could see many varieties of tasks being performed before them. Students learned much practical application of Networking, Wired Communication system, FTTH and Mobile communication, how the connections are established, how they work, how to detect the error in connections and how to overcome from those errors and many more.
The students from Department of Computer Science of Christ College of Science and Management organized a Teachers Day celebration- a tribute to Teachers - on 5th September 2019.The program took place in esteemed presence of Principal, Rev.Fr.Rinoj James CMI. Several interesting and entertaining games were conducted for Teachers and prizes were distributed to the winning teachers after each game. The cultural shows began, with love, respect, acknowledgement and recognition of the hard work put in by the teachers towards the students’ development. Later, the students felicitated the teachers with mementos as a token of their love and gratitude.
The Department of Computer Science in association with the Computer Science Association of Christ College of Science and Management, organized an outreach program on 2nd October 2019 an attempt to give exposure to our students to societal environment.Under this program, around 35 students from our department, took up the responsibility of teaching the students of Govt. Higher Primary School, Thindlu, for a day.
The classes were divided into five: Rhymes were taught for classes 1 to 3, English Grammar for classes 4 to 5. They were also given an idea about Weaving through a video, MS Paint for classes 6-7, followed by a session on Awareness about mobile phones for them. Several games were also organized for the children at the end of the sessions.Outreaching Programme was a very good exposure for all the BCA students, to understand the environment of the people who is not living in the level of comfort zone and the life style of the village kids. Overall it was a motivational programme.
Certificate Course on Python
To be competent in the competitive world the students are taught subjects apart from their syllabi. The trending areas in the field of Mobile Application Development, comprehensive skill development and English Language were given as certificate course by the Computer Science department to equip the learners with the knowledge to go about the various areas of study.The course provided a platform to unfold and unleash the talents of students in various areas other than their daily course of study.
Outreach Program - Street Play
The Department of Computer Science in association with the Computer Science Association of Christ College of Science and Management, organized the second outreach program of this academic year on the day of Gandhi Jayanthi (02-10-2019) an attempt to give exposure to our students to societal responsibility.The students were taken to the village named Thindlu, were they teamed up with the students of the Thindlu Govt. School to spread awareness about the ill-effects of using plastics, through the means of a street play. This street play was well practiced by our students in the local language Kannada, and was brilliantly executed.
